About the Artist

I have worked
primarily in watercolors for years, the most unforgiving medium, but
have recently rediscovered acrylics and I'm painting them on masonite
board which is totally exciting. I'm still using my watercolor
techniques of
exacting details, layering thin layers of paint, and lots of color only
now with acrylic paints on a durable surface.
Since moving from Alaska in 2003, I
have been showing my paintings at juried fine art festivals, usually
within 500 miles of L.A. (lower Alabama) about every other weekend.
I really enjoy the travel and meeting new people who have never seen my
art. Even better is running into people who have seen my art
before and hearing that they recognize and remember my paintings.
I'm terrible at remembering names and faces, so forgive me if I don't
remember you, but please do stop at my booth and check out my latest
paintings when I'm in your area.
I also love to talk painting
techniques for those of you picking up a brush for the first time.
New artists especially appreciate my watercolors once they try this
medium for themselves. I'm always willing to share any art
knowledge I've learned in my 30 years of painting. It just takes
practice. Lots and lots of practice in my case. I
don't feel God gave me a great deal of talent, but he did give me a
great deal of patience and persistence. I have a passion for my
art and I hope you can see it.
